Father–Son Camp is a ministry of Refuge Ridge Fellowship, Gulf Coast Family Camps, and The Family Forge.
Father–Son Camp gathers fathers and sons from many faithful local churches from around the United States, Christian practice and denominations. Although this camp is led and supported through these ministries, it exists to serve the broader body of Christ—not to promote one denomination, replace the local church, or require agreement on every secondary doctrine.
We are not attempting to create another denomination. We are members of one body, united under one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one gospel.
We stand together on the Christian faith and on the biblical convictions that shape manhood, fatherhood, family, and the raising of the next generation.
We ask every father, son, leader, and volunteer who joins us to honor this common ground.
We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God.
Scripture is the final and sufficient authority for what we believe, how we live, how we lead our families, and how we understand manhood. The Bible does not merely contain truth. It is truth.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16, NKJV
We believe in one eternal God, existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
He is the Creator of heaven and earth, holy, sovereign, all-powerful, all-knowing, and worthy of all worship, allegiance, and obedience.
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, willingly died on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for sin, was buried, and rose bodily from the grave on the third day.
He ascended to the right hand of the Father, reigns as Lord over all, and is the only mediator between God and man.
Jesus Christ is not merely an example for men to follow. He is the Savior, King, and Lord before whom every man must bow.
We believe every human being is created in the image of God and possesses inherent dignity and value.
We also believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Apart from Christ, we are spiritually dead, separated from God, and unable to save ourselves.
Sin is not merely weakness to be excused or a wound to be managed. It is rebellion against God that must be confessed and forsaken.
We believe salvation is the gift of God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by human effort, religious performance, family heritage, or good works.
Those who repent and believe are forgiven, reconciled to God, made new by the Holy Spirit, and adopted into the family of God.
True saving faith produces the fruit of repentance, obedience, holiness, love, and perseverance.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8–9, NKJV
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, gives new life to those who believe, and indwells every follower of Jesus Christ.
He teaches, sanctifies, equips, and empowers God’s people to live holy lives, resist sin, serve one another, and bear bold witness to Christ.
No man can become the man God has called him to be through determination, discipline, or human strength alone. Biblical manhood is formed through surrender to Christ and dependence upon the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the Church, the body of Christ, made visible through faithful local congregations gathered under the authority of God’s Word.
Every Christian is called to belong to, worship with, submit to, and serve within a faithful local church.
Father–Son Camp is not a church and does not replace the ministry, authority, ordinances, or pastoral oversight of the local church. Camp exists to strengthen fathers and sons so that they return home better prepared to serve Christ, their families, and their churches.
We believe God created humanity male and female, two distinct, complementary, and equally valuable sexes established by God and rooted in creation.
A man’s identity is not invented by culture, determined by personal preference, or redefined by human authority. It is received from the God who created him.
God’s design is good. Male and female are not interchangeable, and God’s created order is not ours to redefine.
“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:27, NKJV
We believe biblical manhood is defined by Scripture and perfectly demonstrated in Jesus Christ.
A godly man accepts responsibility, walks in humility, speaks truth, protects the vulnerable, serves sacrificially, exercises self-control, keeps his word, works diligently, repents quickly, and stands courageously for what is right.
Biblical strength is not domination, passivity, aggression, or self-exaltation. It is power submitted to God and used for the good of others.
A man is not measured merely by his physical strength, possessions, accomplishments, or public reputation. He is measured by his faithfulness to God, his obedience to Scripture, his treatment of others, and his willingness to carry responsibility.
“Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love.”
1 Corinthians 16:13–14, NKJV
We believe God designed marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman.
Marriage is a picture of Christ and His Church and is the only context God has ordained for sexual union.
Husbands are called to love their wives sacrificially, faithfully, and tenderly, as Christ loved the Church. A man’s leadership in the home must never become control, intimidation, neglect, or abuse. It must reflect the character, service, and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
We believe the family is established by God and that children are a heritage from the Lord.
God has entrusted parents with the primary responsibility to raise their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Churches, mentors, and Christian communities can support that calling, but they must not replace it.
The home is the primary place where faith is taught, modeled, practiced, and passed from one generation to the next.
Our aim is not merely to raise protected boys or successful children. Our aim is to raise faithful men and women who know Christ, obey His Word, love His Church, and carry responsibility into the next generation.
We believe fatherhood is a sacred stewardship.
Fathers are called to lead their homes under the lordship of Jesus Christ. They are responsible to love, provide, protect, teach, correct, encourage, bless, and disciple their children.
A father cannot delegate the formation of his son entirely to a school, church program, coach, camp, or culture.
Father–Son Camp exists to strengthen fathers in this calling—not to take their place.
We recognize that some sons attend with grandfathers, guardians, mentors, or other faithful men because of death, abandonment, absence, or difficult family circumstances. We honor godly men who step into these gaps while still affirming God’s design and the irreplaceable significance of faithful fatherhood.
“And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4, NKJV
We believe boys should be intentionally prepared for godly manhood.
They should not be treated as passive consumers who must merely be entertained, protected from every difficulty, or excused from responsibility.
Boys grow through truth, instruction, correction, challenge, service, discipline, meaningful work, godly example, and increasing responsibility.
The goal is not reckless toughness or empty bravado. The goal is mature strength under the authority of Christ.
We call sons to honor their fathers and mothers, receive instruction, develop competence, resist passivity, tell the truth, serve others, and grow in wisdom, courage, purity, and faithfulness.
We believe men need godly brotherhood.
Fathers were not designed to lead alone, and sons need to see faithful men standing shoulder-to-shoulder in worship, work, courage, humility, and obedience.
Older men are called to teach and strengthen younger men. Fathers are called to pass faith, wisdom, and responsibility to their sons. Sons are called to receive what is faithful and carry it forward.
The strength of one generation must become an inheritance for the next.
“One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.”
Psalm 145:4, NKJV
We believe Jesus Christ will return personally and bodily to judge the living and the dead.
Those who are in Christ will dwell with God forever, and those who reject Him remain under judgment.
This certain hope shapes how we live, lead, work, parent, endure hardship, and prepare the next generation.
Every father will give an account to God. Every son must eventually stand before God for himself. Therefore, we labor with urgency, humility, and hope.
Our fathers and sons come from Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist, Lutheran, Anglican, charismatic, Pentecostal, evangelical, nondenominational, and other faithful Christian churches.
We celebrate this diversity without pretending that every tradition is identical.
Questions concerning baptism, communion, church government, worship practices, the gifts of the Spirit, educational models, and the timing of Christ’s return belong primarily within our families and local churches. They are not to become sources of division or campfire debate.
At camp, we gather around what is clear and central:
We will not soften these truths to satisfy the culture.
We will not elevate secondary doctrines in a way that fractures the body of Christ.
We will contend for the faith, honor faithful local churches, walk in humility toward one another, and stand together as brothers under the authority of Jesus Christ.
Any father and son from an orthodox Christian tradition who can stand on this common ground can stand with us.
Father–Son Camp is a forge where boys are prepared for manhood, fathers are strengthened in their calling, and generations are summoned to follow Christ with courage.
One Lord. One faith. One body. One generation strengthening the next.
Together, these ministries serve the broader body of Christ by strengthening fathers and forming sons, building families, and calling generations to courageous faithfulness.
Refuge Ridge Fellowship
A local fellowship committed to biblical faithfulness, Christian community, discipleship, and the presence of God. Led by a team of Elders with a plurality of leadership.
Gulf Coast Family Camps
A gathering ministry strengthening families through worship, fellowship, biblical teaching, and shared experiences.
Gulf Coast Family Camps is overseen by the board of The Family Forge a plurality of leaders. A discipleship movement equipping families to build strong homes, form faithful sons and daughters, and pass the faith from one generation to the next.
Together, these ministries serve the broader body of Christ by strengthening fathers and mothers forming sons and daughters, building families, strengthening marriages, and calling generations to courageous faithfulness.
